The Tale of The Marketing Vikings

A Viking is one of the Norse (Scandinavian) explorers, warriors, merchants, and pirates who raided and colonized wide areas of Europe from the late eighth to the early eleventh century.

These Norsemen used their famed longships to travel as far east as Constantinople and the Volga River in Russia, and as far west as Iceland, Greenland, and Newfoundland.

This period of Viking expansion is known as the Viking Age, and forms a major part of the medieval history of Scandinavia, the British Isles and Europe in general.

Today, the times have changed and a new Viking Age is upon us!

The Vikings have now exchanged their swords, axes and longships with laptops, phones and first-class travelling with the aim of conquering the world by leading on a whole new bread of entrepreneurs.

Their names are Marius Ystenes and Ole Johnny Bakke, best buddies and business partners, originally from Oslo, Norway.

Like you, we first got into network marketing to achieve the financial freedom and lifestyle always talked about in this industry, yet rarely achieved.

Our first experience with this industry was about 4 years ago when we first joined a network marketing company.

After really never getting any real results with that first company, we joined a new company which sold an exotic nutritional beverage a little over 2 years ago and we put the pedal to the metal and thought we were really going to build this thing big.

Though we liked the fabulous products our companies offered, we were always frustrated with the business conducts… you spend most of your time pitching the business to others, instead of spending the majority of your time performing the only activity that pays you… taking orders!

We luckily soon realized the “old school” way of doing things (hotel meetings, cold calling, bugging friends/family, 3 foot rule…) is just not going to work for most people – at least not with the kind of products and compensation plans our previous companies offered…

And we definitely didn’t want to duplicate these outdated methods to our team.

If you’ve been in network marketing yourself, you know it’s a LOT harder than they tell you and 97% of home business owners actually spend more than they make.

Well, we weren’t about to become one of those statistics… and it took us a while to admit to ourselves that the ONLY REASON FOR US FAILING WAS OURSELVES! We didn’t know enough about marketing, and the only way we were going to survive was if we invested time and money on learning how to market and develop ourselves to the leaders others would want to work with!
